A Gentle Reminder That Our Children Make a Difference Too
Updated: Sep 19

Midweek is here, and so far, this week has already given me a beautiful moment to reflect on.
My little one started back at school after summer break, and like most moms, I was anxious to hear how his first day went. When I received his feedback, my heart felt so full. I learned that he has become a safe space for some of the students in his class. His soft and gentle demeanor helps them feel calm when they are anxious, overwhelmed, or upset because they have lost something.
As a mother, hearing this meant more to me than any grade or achievement ever could. It reminded me that the love, patience, and kindness we pour into our children travel with them wherever they go. Even when we are not there to witness it, they are sharing pieces of what we have taught them with others.
Sometimes we wonder if we are doing enough as mothers. We question ourselves, replay our mistakes, and worry about the things we could have done differently. Then a moment like this comes along and quietly reminds us that our love is showing up through our children.
My little one may not realize how meaningful his kindness is, but helping another child feel safe and calm is something truly special. In a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming, raising a child who brings peace into a room is a blessing.
So, this is my midweek reminder to every mother: the little lessons matter. The gentle conversations matter. Teaching our children to be kind, patient, and understanding matters. Keep pouring love into them because one day, that love may become someone else’s safe place.
This week, I am simply a proud mom grateful to see that my little one’s soft heart is already making a beautiful difference. 🤎
