Midweek Reset: I Had to Remind Myself… I’m Still Doing It 🌿

Halfway through the week, but still moving forward. One step at a time.
Halfway through the week, but still moving forward. One step at a time.

It’s Wednesday, and this morning I had to check in with myself. Not my schedule. Not my to-do list.

Not what everybody else needed from me.

Because sometimes I can get so caught up in everything I’m trying to accomplish that I forget to acknowledge everything I’m already doing.

I’m a mom.

I work.

I’m in school.

I’m studying and working toward bigger goals for my future.

I’m building things that matter to me. And somewhere in between all of that, I’m still trying to take care of myself, keep my home together, show up for the people I love, and find a little time to just breathe.

Some weeks I feel like I have it together.

And some weeks?

Baby…

I’m looking at my list on Wednesday wondering how it’s already Wednesday.

But today I had to remind myself of something: I’m still doing it. Maybe not perfectly. Maybe not as quickly as I want. Maybe I didn’t accomplish everything I wrote down Sunday. But I’m still showing up. And if you’re reading this feeling like you’re behind this week, I want you to acknowledge that about yourself too.

You’re still here.

And that means we still have time.

Sometimes I Put Too Much Pressure on Myself

I’m a goal person. When I decide I want something, my mind immediately starts thinking about how I’m going to get there. And that’s a good thing… Until I start thinking about everything at once.

School.

Career.

Family.

Finances.

Business.

Personal goals.

The future.

Suddenly, instead of feeling motivated, I’m overwhelmed. I’ve had to learn that I don’t have to accomplish the entire vision this week. I just have to keep moving toward it. That’s something I’ve been reminding myself a lot lately:

Slow progress doesn’t mean I’m not progressing.

And neither are you. Maybe you’re working toward something that nobody else can see yet. Keep going. Maybe you’ve been putting in work and haven’t gotten the results yet. Keep going. Maybe you’re tired of starting over.

Start again anyway. Because sometimes the biggest difference between the person who reaches the goal and the person who doesn’t is simply that one of them kept going.

So Today, I’m Bringing Myself Back 🌿

When my mind starts getting too far ahead of me, I have to bring myself back to the present. What can I control today? Not next month. Not next year. Today. Maybe today I can study for an hour. Maybe I can work on one thing I’ve been putting off. Maybe I can drink more water. Maybe I can take a walk and clear my head. Maybe I can make my tea, put my phone down, and sit quietly for a few minutes. Maybe I can go to bed earlier tonight. Those things might seem small. But I’ve learned that sometimes small resets create big changes. You don’t always need to completely reinvent your life. Sometimes you just need to get yourself back on track.

And Being a Mom Adds a Whole Different Layer 🤎

If you’re a parent, you already know. You can have your whole day planned out beautifully… And then your child wakes up and decides your schedule means absolutely nothing. That’s life. I’m learning to give myself grace with that too. Because while I’m working toward my own goals, I’m also raising someone. I’m trying to teach my child routines, responsibility, confidence, discipline and how to keep going when things don’t go his way. And then I realized…

He’s watching me learn those same lessons.

Our children don’t only learn from what we tell them. They watch how we live. They see when we’re tired. They see when something doesn’t work out. They see when we’re frustrated. But they also get to see us get back up. That’s powerful. So this week, as we’re getting closer to school starting and bringing routines back into our home, I’m not looking for perfection. I’m looking for consistency. A little earlier bedtime. A little more structure. Some reading. Preparing things ahead of time. Getting our minds and bodies back into a routine. Because the goal isn’t to suddenly have everything perfect the night before school. The goal is to make the transition easier for both of us. And hopefully save myself from the morning chaos of somebody suddenly not knowing where ANYTHING is.

Today I’m Choosing Progress Over Pressure

That’s my midweek reset. I’m not looking at everything I haven’t accomplished. I’m looking at what I still have time to do. I’m not telling myself I’m behind. I’m reminding myself how far I’ve already come. I’m not comparing my journey to somebody else’s. I’m staying focused on mine. And most importantly, I’m not waiting until Monday to start over.

I’m starting again today.

Because Wednesday can be a beginning too. Maybe you needed to hear that. You don’t need January 1st. You don’t need the first of the month. You don’t even need Monday. Sometimes your new beginning is a random Wednesday when you finally say:

Okay. Enough. Let’s get back to it.

We’re Only Halfway Through 💪🏽✨

So whatever happened Monday and Tuesday… Leave it there. If you procrastinated, refocus. If you fell off your routine, get back on. If you didn’t work out, take the walk today. If you didn’t study, open the book. If you haven’t touched that goal, give it 20 minutes. If you’re exhausted, rest, but don’t confuse resting with quitting. And if you’re feeling discouraged because you’re not where you thought you’d be by now… Look at yourself. You’re still trying. You’re still growing. You’re still learning. You’re still becoming.

And you’re still in the game.

As for me? I’m going to keep being a mom. Keep working. Keep studying. Keep building. Keep praying. Keep pouring into myself. And keep reminding myself that I don’t have to do everything today.

I just can’t stop moving forward.

Neither can you. We’re halfway through the week. There’s still time.

Let’s reset, refocus, and finish what we started. 💪🏽🤎🌿

Midweek Check-In 💭

Before you go, ask yourself:

What is ONE thing I can do today that will make me proud of myself by the end of this week?

Whatever came to your mind…

Start there. 🤎
