Sunday Reset: Smile Anyway, Keep Going 🤎

Some weeks are beautiful, and some weeks? Whew. You’re just trying to make it to Sunday with your sanity, your responsibilities handled, everybody taken care of, and maybe five minutes to yourself. But guess what? You made it. Maybe everything didn’t go the way you planned. Maybe you cried this week. Maybe somebody disappointed you. Maybe you disappointed yourself. Maybe you’re tired of being the strong one. Maybe you’re waiting on an answer, trying to figure out your next move, rebuilding something, letting something go, or simply trying to keep your head above water. Whatever your “it” is right now, I want you to remember that this moment is not your whole story.
Life has taught me that I can’t control everything that happens around me. I can’t control people, I can’t force things to happen before their time, and I definitely can’t go back and rewrite yesterday. But I can decide how I walk into tomorrow. Sometimes that starts with something as simple as getting up, opening the curtains, making my tea, putting on some music, laughing at something ridiculous, and reminding myself, girl, life is still good. Not perfect. Not easy. But still good.
There are still reasons to smile. There are still places you haven’t been, people you haven’t met, prayers that haven’t been answered yet, goals you haven’t reached, laughs you haven’t laughed, memories you haven’t made, and versions of yourself you haven’t even met yet. So why stop here? This Sunday, give yourself permission to put the heavy stuff down for a minute. You don’t have to figure your entire life out today.
Clean your space, take that shower, wash your hair, go outside, drink some water, make yourself something good to eat, turn the music up, and dance around the kitchen if you have to. Call somebody who makes you laugh. Pray. Journal. Rest. And please, SMILE. Sometimes we get so caught up in trying to fix life that we forget we’re supposed to actually live it.
I’m learning to appreciate the little moments more. I’m learning to stop waiting until everything is perfect before I allow myself to be happy. Because happiness can’t always be something we save for “when.” When I graduate. When I make more money. When the business grows. When love comes. When life finally settles down. No. I want to find joy here too. In the middle of becoming. In the middle of figuring it out. Even in the middle of the messy parts.
If you’re going through something right now, I hope you give yourself permission to do the same. You are allowed to have a hard season and still laugh. You are allowed to be healing and still have fun. You are allowed to have unanswered questions and still enjoy your Sunday. You are allowed to say, “I don’t know how everything is going to work out, but I believe it will.” Sometimes that has to be enough for today.
Tomorrow, we’ll handle Monday. But today? We’re resetting. We’re breathing. We’re laughing. We’re choosing joy. We’re thanking God for another day and another chance. Whatever happened last week, leave what you can behind. Take the lesson, keep the wisdom, release the weight, and keep going.
There is still so much life waiting for you. There are still reasons to laugh until your stomach hurts, mornings worth waking up for, goals worth chasing, and moments that will remind you why you didn’t give up. So if this week was heavy, don’t carry all of it into the next one. Put some of it down.
Smile, beautiful. You’re still here. 🤎
Happy Sunday. Reset. Restart. Refocus. And keep going.
With Love,
Leah 🤎
